From 7 to 11 Novembre 2016, the Centre of Nuclear Sciences and Material Sciences (CSNSM, joint research unit of Univ Paris-Sud and CNRS) is organizing the 1st Workshop on « Shapes and Symmetries in Nuclei : from Experiment to Theory » (SSNET) in Gif sur Yvette, France. The workshop aims at strengthening the international collaboration between nuclear structure physicists from France, Europe and other laboratories all around the world. It will allow fruitful discussions on recent experimental and theoretical aspects of nuclear structure related to the manifestation and description of the various shapes and geometrical symmetries of the nucleus as well as other symmetries and symmetry breaking.
Recent results obtained from various detection systems like AGATA, JUROGAM, EAGLE, GALILEO, GAMMASPHERE, GRETINA, GRIFFIN, TIGRESS, EURICA, INGA, AFRODITE will be presented, as well as the most recent theoretical advances and their applications. The intention of the workshop is to give an impulse to the studies of exotic modes of excitation in nuclei using new detector setups for gamma-rays and associated ancillaries.
The call for papers will be closed on June 15, 2015. Detailed programme and registration on https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/12970/
